On our family vacation to Kauai, January 2024, I met Delores. Delores is a 92 year old lady that helped me with the laundromat at the condo complex we were staying in. Delores inspired me and showed me something that's possible with regards to life and living as we “mature”. Â
It was our third night in Kauai and I wanted to do a load of laundry. I made sure to have enough coins with me so I could complete the wash and dry cycle of a load. That plan was working until the washing machine ate a few of my coins. I looked around and saw that there was an App I could use to work the machines….. So interesting, I had never seen that before!
I downloaded the app, but had trouble setting up my account and connecting it to the laundromat at this location.
In walks this little old lady with her laundry basket to pick up her laundry. She saw I was having trouble and asked if I needed help. I said “yes please” I would definitely appreciate that. First of all she said, “Let's use my app and...
Hi my name is Katherine and I have been "hard working" free now for about 40 days.
Over the past 11 years I have been able to recognize in myself where I have been addicted to being right, addicted to the fight (and winning it!) and this last year, 2024, I can see where I was addicted to hard work.
"nothing worth having ever comes easy" was a "hidden value & principle" that I lived by. This was a tricky one for me to let go of because hard work does get you ahead, the willingness to never give up, never give in and never quit is a HUGE STRENGTH. However it can also be very destructive, as any tool can, when not used in creative way.
Our family adventure to Kauai really showed me PEACE & MAGIC in a whole new way - I felt like I was getting it on a cellular level.
Since our trip, my values have changed. I have been putting PEACE & LOVE ahead of MONEY & HARD WORK. It has been extremely uncomfortable, I was feeling lost and uncertain..... Everything in my life is now growing from / as / with...
From my Heart….
Letting Go to Grow Â
January 2024 we (Hubby, the kiddos and I) went on a family vacation to Kauai…… This Island changed our lives in ways I never imagined it would and I know these changes are rippling out into the future of each one of us.
I will start at the very beginning ... .This is a trip of a lifetime. Kauai has been calling me for a few years now, since seeing a friend of mine post pics and share stories of her time there. The moment I saw her first post on facebook, I said YES! I’ll have that toooooooo! I knew one day we would be there, but I didn't set a time - I was open to anytime. In the beginning of “Actualizing” this vacation I spent time daydreaming about what it would be like. I looked at all my friends' pictures, read about her adventures and fell in love with this island through her eyes.Â
Next I started talking about it to Hubby. He was his usual ogre self about vacations. “I don't want to go, I don’t want to sit on an airplane for that long,...
