Peaceful Possibilities that I never imagined would show up!
Rewind to November 2023… I just read “Fast Like a Girl” By Dr Mindy Pelz. I was consuming Dr Mindy’s youTube content, learning all about hormones, food, how different lengths of fasting unlocks different healing mechanisms in the body… Detoxing your liver… metabolic flexibility… Insulin resistance… How to make your body Insulin sensitive…
SO MANY COOL THINGS that I never knew before!
I started fasting according to my cycle (as directed by Dr Mindy) and I started going into 24 hour & 36 hour fasts.
This challenged me in so many ways I never expected!
FIRST OFF, I have a family… am I still going to cook supper for them? Can I do it? What would I like to do?
Cooking supper for me was always a bit of a drag. I never really enjoyed it, it always felt like something that I HAD to do. It’s like as soon as you become a wife & mom, you get this ticket that names you the “forever supper maker” for the household.Â

On our family vacation to Kauai, January 2024, I met Delores. Delores is a 92 year old lady that helped me with the laundromat at the condo complex we were staying in. Delores inspired me and showed me something that's possible with regards to life and living as we “mature”. Â
It was our third night in Kauai and I wanted to do a load of laundry. I made sure to have enough coins with me so I could complete the wash and dry cycle of a load. That plan was working until the washing machine ate a few of my coins. I looked around and saw that there was an App I could use to work the machines….. So interesting, I had never seen that before!
I downloaded the app, but had trouble setting up my account and connecting it to the laundromat at this location.
In walks this little old lady with her laundry basket to pick up her laundry. She saw I was having trouble and asked if I needed help. I said “yes please” I would definitely appreciate that. First of all she said, “Let's use my app and...
December 2022…. I just finished riding my horse in a lesson with my coach.nn It was Great! My mom had called me the night before and asked to talk to me after my ride that day. She didn’t say about what, it didn’t seem like anything too bad. She walked over while I un-tacked my horse and we stepped aside together for a moment. She told me that she had breast cancer. She told me about her appointments, her diagnosis and her treatment plan. To say the least, I was shocked. This was NOT something I saw coming. I always saw my mom as one of the healthiest, fittest people around! She had just turned 60, she was active…. My mind was blown.Â
The first course of treatment for my mom was surgery, in february. She asked if I would go with her - ABSOLUTELY! This would be followed by weekly chemo treatments starting in the spring and radiation later that summer. She asked if I would be able to help drive her to these appointments - ABSOLUTELY!
